How do I even begin to introduce this girl to you? Have you ever met someone whose bright, energetic personality and optimistic outlook on life just make you want to be around them? Well that is Remi. She is such a positive inspiration to everyone and anyone she meets! And when she shows up to the gym…it’s on a whole other level. The way she looks forward to and gives her all at every workout along with how she has made fitness and eating healthy a constant part of her lifestyle is beyond inspiring!

Remi talks about how she went from an “on again/off again” relationship with working out and attempts to eat healthy to embracing a consistent strength training program combined with eating healthy fats and more vegetables to get the results she wanted (ie. looking and feeling her BEST)!

Let me start by saying, I have always struggled with maintaining a workout routine. I have been known to go in waves of working out every day for a month, to then taking 2 months off directly after with absolutely no exercise. I get excited, and then I burn out easily.
On a random night in June 2019 I decided that it was time to end this cycle. I realized what I was lacking was accountability, and I thought maybe it was time to turn to personal training. After doing a quick google search in Denver, I was immediately captured by a bright pink website and a sparkling personality that was palpable in every photo – and at that moment it was very obvious that I needed to meet the rockstar behind Body by Emilee as soon as possible. What I did not know, was that the decision I made that night to inquire on her website would really change my life, and my health, forever.
In August 2019 a spot happened to open up and I jumped immediately at the opportunity. Almost 9 months later I still see Emilee every Monday and Wednesday – and I swear she could not get rid of me even if she wanted to (which, hopefully it won’t come to that…). Not only is Emilee my fitness trainer, my accountability mentor, and my nutrition expert, but she has also become one of my very best friends and I can’t imagine my life without her.
Emilee is an all-around life coach; she keeps me on track and she teaches me something new with every session, and she is also the best listener you could possibly imagine. She genuinely cares so much for her clients, and it is so discernible with everything that she does. She always gives her expert advice and helps fit ‘health’ comfortably into your lifestyle, but she also never judges you for ‘slip-ups’. She does, however, teach you how to combat them.
Earlier I mentioned that signing up for BBE changed my life, so here is why. Emilee is by far the best in the Denver fitness industry (trust me, she has over 18 years of experience), the woman knows what she is doing. She leads by example, and because you automatically want to be like her upon meeting her – this becomes your motivation. Like I said, she makes healthy living comfortable for you in order to avoid burnouts, like what I had previously experienced. She keeps me on track, but every workout is completely different – and because of this, every workout is exciting! I can also say I have never felt better, looked better, or fit into clothes so comfortably since I have started working with Emilee. I used to get anxiety leading up to big events like weddings, fearing how my body would look and photograph – and now I actually look forward to those events and showing off that new dress because I, with Emilee’s help, have worked so hard for it.
And on that note, an odd side-effect of BBE workouts that I was not expecting to get is confidence. I mean me? The girl who could barely hold a 3-pound weight in Barre class is all of a sudden dead-lifting 60-pounds?? My mother still doesn’t believe me when I tell her about my workouts with Emilee. This right here is what keeps me going. I, for once in my life, finally understand how to work out and how to eat healthy on my own – without anyone watching. I finally understand the benefits of weight training versus cardio, and actually know what my body needs in order to burn fat. And I feel this amazing responsibility not only to Emilee, but also to myself, to honor what I started. And it’s actually pretty easy because it feels pretty fantastic.
If you are new to fitness and scared of committing to something like this, just give it a shot. Dip your toe in the water. You wouldn’t be on Emilee’s website if you weren’t interested in making this lifestyle change – and it will be the absolute best thing you ever do. You’ll gain knowledge and strength, but you’ll also gain a mentor and a best friend. Lastly, you’ll obtain the support of the incredible BBE community that Emilee has so wonderfully built. The inspiration you will get from all of this will shape you into the best version of yourself. Take it from me.
