How healthy is your lifestyle babes? Do you feel like you are “living what you love”? Or are you just going through the motions feeling a little unbalanced, unfocused and not sure why? I know the feeling and I also know one of the most important steps to counter it, is to define the elements that are essential to your healthy lifestyle. Once you define those elements and have that clarity, you’ll know where you are “off” and what you need to adjust to get back to feeling aligned. You’ll also know how to prioritize your life to make time for what you need to feel balanced, energized and fulfilled! So how about it babes…? Are you ready to figure out and define exactly what you need to do to LIVE WHAT YOU LOVE?
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
*For each of the 5 areas below, define what it means for you, what it looks like on a weekly basis as well as how and why you are going to make it happen. I am sharing my answers with you, but my way is definitely not the only way. I really want you to think about what you NEED to feel aligned, healthy and balanced in your life, what it looks like and why it’s important to you!
{ FITNESS }
*DEFINE IT: A combination of strength training, core work, cardio, yoga and stretching
*WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE EVERY WEEK: Strength training 5 days a week for 30-60 minutes / Core work 5 days a week for 15-30 minutes / Cardio 3 days a week for 20-30 minutes / Yoga 1-2 days a week for 60 minutes / Stretching 5 days a week for 10-20 minutes
*HOW AND WHY I AM GOING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN: Leaving open times in my schedule for my workouts and maintaining my weekly class schedule. Staying current with my yoga pass and scheduling classes ahead of time. Putting my phone on airplane mode while I’m working out so I have enough time at the end for stretching. The reason why I am going to make this happen is because I feel so much better when I am consistent with my workouts. My body feels strong and fit, I am less stressed, happier and energized.
{ NUTRITION }
*DEFINE IT: Cooking and preparing healthy, mostly plant based, grain free meals + daily vitamin and supplement regimen
*WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE EVERY WEEK: Starting my day off with my vitamins and a plant based breakfast / Packing and preparing my lunch and pre + post workout snacks for the day / Cooking dinner at home 6 nights a week / Aiming for 6 cups of greens a day and avoiding processed foods and refined sugar
*HOW AND WHY I AM GOING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN: Weekly meal planning and weekly trips to the grocery store to make sure I have everything I need. Getting up when my alarm goes off so I have enough time to get everything ready for the day. Finding healthy recipes (if this is a struggle babes…send me a message and I’ll get you signed up for my weekly meal plan email) and stocking the kitchen and pantry with nutrient rich foods. Not buying processed foods or snacks with refined sugar. Making sure I am eating throughout the day so I don’t get too hungry after work. The reason why I am going to make this happen is because I feel awful when I don’t eat healthy and keep up with my vitamin and supplement regimen. I feel so much leaner, less tired and more focused when I am eating lots of veggies, healthy fats and protein.
{ STRESS MANAGEMENT + SELF CARE }
*DEFINE IT: A combination of meditation, organization, time to myself and beauty/body treatments
*WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE EVERY WEEK: Meditating 20 minutes a day 7 days a week, 10 minutes every morning and 10 minutes every night / Cleaning and organizing the house for 20 minutes a day during the week and as needed on the weekends / Spending at least 1 hour + on the weekends on myself / Scheduling and making time for mani/pedi’s, facials and massages at least 1-2 times a month
*HOW AND WHY I AM GOING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN: Going to bed on time and getting up on time so I am not too tired or rushed and leave time for meditation. Taking a break from work during the day or taking time after dinner to clean and organize. Getting up early if needed or if not, scheduling some time to myself each week. Booking appointments ahead of time and staying on a consistent schedule with beauty/body services. The reason why is because all of this is essential for me staying sane lol. Seriously though, I can not emphasize enough what a difference meditation has made for me in keeping me grounded and centered and how important a clean, organized house is as well as feeling confident and beautiful from taking care of myself mind, body and spirit.
{ RELATIONSHIPS }
*DEFINE IT: How I show up and relate to my son, my husband, my family, my friends and my clients
*WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE EVERY WEEK: Daily interactions with my son, husband, family, friends and clients / Weekly date nights with my husband / Dinners every night with my son and husband / Girl dates once a month / Weekly family time / Planning events and activities outside the gym with my clients
*HOW AND WHY I AM GOING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN: Being present in every encounter and interaction I have with the people I love and care about. Scheduling date nights as well as being spontaneous when the opportunity to do something fun presents itself. Making weekly phone calls to my family to stay connected and in touch. Setting up activities and getting my clientele involved in fun things outside the gym. The reason why I am going to make this happen is because my relationships are everything to me and being present, vulnerable and involved with the people in my life is more than important to me. It makes me feel connected, balanced, appreciated, supported and loved.
{ CAREER }
*DEFINE IT: Running and growing a business I am passionate about, using my strengths and talents to promote a lifestyle I believe in and helping women become the best versions of themselves.
*WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE EVERY WEEK: Working face to face with clients 32 – 36 hours a week / Teaching classes 3 hours a week / Daily social media posts / Weekly meal plan emails / Bi-monthly blog posts / Working to expand and promote brand
*HOW AND WHY I AM GOING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN: Showing up everyday as my best, highest self providing my clients with exactly what they need. Planning and providing excellence in my workouts, nutrition plans, classes and coaching. Staying organized with monthly, weekly and daily planning. Time batching social media, meal planning and blogging. Coming up with new ideas and ways to grow and expand. The reason why is because being able to help women improve their health and fitness and feel better about themselves not only has such a positive impact on them, it also fulfills and fuels me. I love what I do and it is so important to me that I maintain the highest level of performance I can in everything I do with my business.
